Injection molding is the process of shooting molten material into a #mold where it cools and hardens to the configuration of the cavities. After a product is designed by one of our #engineers, a mold can be made by a toolmaker from metal or plastic and machined or 3D printed to form the features of the desired part. Here’s an example of #overmolding where we combine multiple materials into a single part. Overmolding is often used to add a layer of rubber-like material over a hard plastic substrate, but it can also be used to change the appearance of a part. Reach out to us for your #domesticmanufacturing needs.

If you’re an early stage company looking for #engineering and design, #productdevelopment, and scale-up #manufacturing with plastic #injectionmolding, reach out to us. Additive at Scale’s turnkey processes are designed for technology development and tailored by innovation. We break down tech dev into three simple phases. Here is an example of a “Phase 1: Proof of Concept” where one of our #AdditiveEngineers rapidly designed and prototyped 25 units for testing and feedback. Reach out to learn more about Phase 2: MVP and Phase 3: Scale-up Manufacturing.

Want to learn more about Semiconductor industry and how you and your company can participate to strengthen the US supply chain? Our 2nd annual Leading to Win Summit is to bring together stakeholders from academia, industry, government, and the veteran community to explore the opportunities and challenges of the CHIPS Act in driving defense innovation, entrepreneurship, and workforce development in Texas, while supporting national security priorities and fostering a strong, inclusive ecosystem for growth and collaboration. Our overall theme, "Leading to Win: CHIPS and DIP, a Texas Sized Opportunity," captures the essence of the discussions, panels, and fireside chats outlined in the agenda. It emphasizes the importance of collaboration, innovation, and workforce development in the context of the CHIPS Act, while also highlighting the event's focus on national security priorities and inclusivity. I'm proud to share the stage with speakers like: Admiral (R) William McRaven, US Navy??? Austin Mayor Kirk Watson? We recently purchased a Creaform Black Elite #3Dscanner and can’t wait to tell you all about it. Great technology for #reverseengineering and #inspection. It’s been an exciting summer working on Project RIPTIDE ?? with the Department of Engineering Technology & Industrial Distribution at Texas A&M University. Specifically, the students in Mohamed G.’s #MXET program. We are learning software and hardware integration with Universal Robots ?? to semi-automate inspection ?? processes and report generation for #serialproduction. #mechatronics #tamu #capstoneproject #laserscanning #engineering #additivemanufcaturing #integration #automation #robotics

Final day In Michigan for #NorthernStrike24: Thank you CRUX Defense for the opportunities to demonstrate and for inspiring collaboration between industry and #DoD. Additive at Scale mobilized it’s capability to Camp Grayling JMTC where we got to meet with team members from Firestorm and Skypad (https://lnkd.in/gufJkRVq). Firestorm also leverages #3Dprinting for their modular, open-architecture unmanned aerial systems. Specifically, HP’s MultiJet Fusion process. Two common threads: 1) It’s all about supporting the #warfighter's needs and coming together to solve challenges. 2)Additive manufacturing is a key ?? enabler that allows technologies to quickly #scale production given the network of printers around the world. ?? Chris with #Skypad brought a #CyberTruck (huge hit ??) that acts as a Mobile Optical System command center which aims to provide #Airman and users with custom data visualization for #BlueUAS. The product creates a seamless training to operational environment that allows rapid technology adoption. The product can also be streamed live with low latency, allowing multiple users to engage with the #droneoperator. #MichiganNationalGuard #AxleBox #JointTrainingExercise #NationalGuard #MichiganMilitary #SummerTraining #Interoperability #NADWC #Readiness

Day 7 of Northern Strike at the Quarry: Two #drones and one badass exercise. DVs arrive in helicopters ?? and travel up to the top of the Quarry for a brief. First drone (call sign Crux 1) takes off from the beach simulating an indo-pacific environment carrying two sensor payloads: one provided by John Gibson with Air Force Research Laboratory and the other a wearable by Ascent Integrated Tech. After a few miles of flight Crux 1 lands and the payloads recovered. The wearable tech is put onto one of the DVs and data from the other is retrieved. The convoy carrying the DV’s travel back down the hill and are suddenly ambushed. During this instance, changes in heart rate and blood pressure were being monitored and a button was hit on the wrist band signaling exact #GPS location. Soon after, a soldier radios for medical payload delivery via drone to the designated location ??. “Crux 2,” another #3Dprinted drone takes off from the beach. While in route the drone loses camera feed and calls in for a crash landing to deliver the bag of blood and ketamine. The pilot lands within 30’ of the target, the payload survived, and then retrieved for treatment of the wounded DV. The medical #armoredvehicle brought the wounded personnel back to base and the mission was a success. #NorthernStrike2024 #MichiganNationalGuard #JointTrainingExercise #NationalGuard #MichiganMilitary #MilitaryTraining #NationalGuardLife #SummerTraining #Interoperability #NADWC #Readiness

Day 4-6 of Northern Strike: Mobilize capability to Michigan National Guard’s Combat Readiness Training Center to demonstrate #edgemanufacturing designed for #ACE to produce and fly #attritable aircrafts. Some advantages noted that align with the USAF’s Agile Combat Employment doctrine, which advocates operating across a network of remote dispersed locations: ?Mobile factory setup time was 1 hour ?Additive process parameters were established on the edge for lightweight foaming material. ?Successful printing during rain showers, wind, and varying temperatures. ?Lights out manufacturing for over 72 hours with only 1 build failure. ?Design modifications were made on the fly to better install carbon fiber struts and decrease assembly time. Modules like this and others we are working on enable the war fighter and can be rapidly unloaded, moved, and deployed to contingency locations such as small airfields and to the edge of a battle area. This is how #industry supports #DoD #materialagnostic #flightworthiness #agile #rugged #resilient #reliable #sustainable #3Dprinting #advancedmanufacturing #additivemanufacturing #drones #mobilefactory #northernstrike2024
