Should you change plans mid-sprint?
Alex Crossley
Simplifying how to stay ahead by delivering value to customers continuously and sustainably by coaching business people and technologists to work together.
Well, I'm going to give the only honest answer, really you shouldn't and shouldn't have to.
There's a good reason why we spent time planning. It makes things more efficient and leads to quality, and because we do it for just a two-week cycle, really what you're doing is setting yourself up to succeed and to deliver on plans.
Being predictable is important to many teams
If something comes into the team that is so important has to be fixed, and you're prepared to lose all of that planning and waste or throw away those plans, then yes, you can change your plans. However, it's something you don't want to get used to, and you should be working towards improving through your retrospectives.
