Heard the saying lend a hand?
Well, I learnt about giving an ARM, from my dear friend Jaspreet Singh Sodhi. As he explained it to me I could see how wonderfully ARM fits into the business practice of creating great brand experiences.
As a marketing specialist creating solutions my work revolves around brand experiences. In creating experiences, we specifically look at the relevancy and meaning it provides to the target person. And that’s where I find ARM fits perfectly.
What is ARM?
A= Appreciation
R= Recognition
M=Motivation
Note that these are all action words. It means there must be a positive action.
"ARM creates engagement, and in business, engagement is the prelude to a lifelong relationship. It’s engagement that builds stickiness!"
Simple Isn't it?
After all, when you appreciate someone by giving recognition, there is engagement. Isn’t that what happens when we share content in here and comment?
Such engagement creates motivation which creates a preference for the brand or the person communicating the appreciation.
Somehow in business, this simple process often seems to be missing. There seems to be a peculiar aversion to show appreciation and to recognize the positive emotions that are created as experience.
Yet its such appreciation and recognition that are critical in generating the real sticky kind of engagement.
The kind of engagement that builds a strong emotional connection through the various conversations that the brand has. Conversations with its employees, customers and business partners that focus on aligning values and achieving common purposes.
All of which, together, create a pull for the brand that translates into orders, in advance, and helps a business forecast future profitability with 80% surety.
