Stop Consuming, Start Creating???
I deleted Instagram from my phone the other day.
I promised myself that I’d take two weeks off from the app. I invited several friends and followers to do the same.

We are doing this because we realize the value of time. We understand that 2024 is a critical juncture in human history – the tectonic plates are metaphorically shifting under our feet.
To stand around and escape reality through mindless content is suicide.
Instead, we will use these next two weeks to reflect, nourish and create.
Could you go two weeks without social media?
I have a philosophy when it comes to creation and productivity.
Create anything.
Execute any idea that comes to mind, and don’t obsess over the process.
Hell, you may not want to edit the process at all.
This philosophy brings me to a place of constant generation, rather than being stuck in the limbo of deliberation.
When I look back on my creations, I have a strong fondness for both the results and the process.
It’s funny, because the process of creation often frustrates or agonizes me.
Worse, I’m often dissatisfied with the outcome once the process is over.
But I am constantly trying to find joy and meaning in the process of creation.?
The more I appreciate the mistakes, and recognize them as necessary growth points for my work, I begin to find pleasure in the effort itself.
Soon after, I grow to love what I’ve done.
I’m a writer, but I don’t limit my creations to that medium.
Sometimes I create songs, drawings, or opportunities.
Don’t edit creation. Just let It happen.

We are so often told to consume – to take, to endure.
To receive rather than inflict.
I like to contribute instead.
Society revolves around creators and consumers, with one group disproportionately more powerful than the next.
Why should creation be reserved for the wealthy or the powerful? Or even the divine?
The world wants us to be afraid of the powerful. Their creations have harmed us.
We are even told to?fear God.?
If His creations are built in His image, it sure is a frightful one.
What about our image, and our creations?
Can those look like God, too?
I wonder – is the point of life to fear God? Or to create Him?
What’s Going on in Hell’s Kitchen????
In just under a week, Domus, Hell’s Kitchen’s beloved gift shop, will close its doors for good.
It signifies the end of ‘Mom and Pop’ shops throughout America, ushering in a new era of large retailers and mass consumption.
I hope you enjoy their heartwarming goodbye.
Perhaps it will move you to a place of appreciation for all things that are real.
