Embracing a new road ... Is it the important decade of life?
In one month, I'll turn 30years old. Exactly, one month from now until the next newsletter that I hope you'll pursue. For this one, I want to reintroduce myself, professionally, but also personally with a common purpose, that you'll probably better understand, than my daily interactions here on LinkedIn.
In the current world, I often ask myself what I want for me and my future, even more with the multicultural context. I realize that it's important to go deeper in your inner-self and accept that you're a soul shiner and go-getter but also a curious minder and open visionary at heart. And I appreciate that it's the choices that I made, the journey that I embraced and the positivity that I attracted that put me where I'm right now in my journey.
Knowing every single part of me, allows me to be a better every single day and I also keep my heart open to new doors and make lights and abundance in my routine.
Do you remember the last time you asked who you are for real?
Allow me to (re)introduce myself:
I'm born in Paris, and I grew up in my youth life in this town. I do remember my childhood and I always felt encouraged to do what I wanted to do in my life. I grew up with siblings, two old bro and one old sister, and I'm the last one of the team. Which can be sometimes very isolated especially when you've more than 15 years between you and your oldest sister. I'm one of those family members. Being the last child was never annoying in my memories, I felt more the explorer of the world than my ancestors. My parents are from Cameroon, they met in the same area and city where they grew up, Douala, until they came to France. I'm not here to describe the details of my family ancestry, but a real important lost, happen recently in my history and completely change the perspectives that I want for my life.
I lost my father later in November 2020 ?? Since this date, I knew that nothing won't be the same again in my life, and sooner of the 3 years of his loss, I understand very clearly in my mind that it's going to be very long for me to manage my grief. I'm very close to numbers and inside feelings, I remembered I was in Belgium to attend a conference that week-end, when an early call in the morning showed up on my smartphone. I never take things that happen in my life for granted, and I cultivate gratitude more than ever on a day-to-day basis. Everyday! Despite this event, I'm also happy that he knew my son and spent time together for forever memories.
I'm a full-time mother and especially a single one, this is very important for me to be precise, as my bandwidth is very important to manage. Some people don't really understand how often you should organize everything with exactitude to make things happen. Some others will cancel things, meetings and others for nothing and play with your time without any reasons. This year, I promise myself to give more space for myself, and spend more time on myself, including activities which require me to learn more about my inner self and nurture it.
Professionally, well ...
Who I'm or what I like the most?
I do believe that we're a composant of our personal path in our professional journey. When I was in college, I wanted to be a lawyer, and I did my first internship in lawyer consultancy and I loved it. For so many reasons ... The courage it takes to know your case and argue about it for more than an hour, but also the speech you gave to the audience in front of you and even more. Graduation's background after the education lessons I took brought me into the Marketing space which I also loved for a while, and I decided to embrace this way. I started with a Skyblog for those who're familiar with this platform, it was huge at that time, especially in my early 19 years old.
I started my career in an agency, and the first one who gave me the real opportunity to discover the advertising space is VMLY&R Paris. Massive shoutout to the best manager that I had in the beginning of my career, Aurelie Plessier. She literally offered me the space for a 6 months internship to express myself, learn immediately from a client/brand perspective and develop my creative brain in the advertising space. I can't believe that I'm today, one of the jury members of the 2023 D&AD Entertainment category. Can you believe it? ????
I also wanted to remind the purpose of this newsletter, it's more a testimony of my journey from a Social Media Manager and where I ideally want to land, an honest testimony with high hopes but also plenty of stuff to learn that I'll continue to share here with you. I received so many messages from different people who felt very inspired by my story and the launch of this newsletter. So, thanks again to all of you ?? I'll definitely pursue the professional growth that I learned from my early days in the workplace until now as an expat in Sweden. We have time for a regular monthly tea, right? ??
As you know, it's not good to put all of your eggs in the same basket, I encourage you to follow me in other places and if you also wanted to share your email address for no other purpose than in case LinkedIn algorithm strike us, feel free to send it here:
Sincerely ??
