Should I Approach a Recruitement Agency?

Should I Approach a Recruitement Agency?

Trying to secure a job on your own can be time-consuming, draining and (let’s be real) a little demotivating & lonely. You have been sitting for hours every day, applying via job boards, networking, company websites, but all you get is an automated response stating “your profile has been rejected and you will be contacted for a suitable role in the future” and sometimes no reply at all.

You may often assume as to how you can make your profile stand out from the thousands of applications submitted. The answer to all your questions is a “Recruitment Agency”. When you turn to a proven Executive Search, Staffing, Outsourcing and/or Recruitment Agency, you are not just being assisted in your job hunt, but you also gain a skilled and experienced representation of the highly competitive market. Agencies may even coach you on the finer details needed for assembling your job-search materials.

However, there may always be a few questions in your mind when deciding if you should utilize the services of an agency. So here are the answers to a few common questions:

1)     How much does it cost to work with an employment agency?

For job seekers, employment agencies are and should be free. Employment agencies are compensated by the employer upon placing you in the perfect position which is decided and structured keeping into account the clients demand and budget and not vice versa.

2)     How does an employment agency actually find me a job?

Looking for a new job can be a daunting task in today’s competitive job market. In addition, with so many online job search sites such as NaukriGulf, Career Builder, LinkedIn or Indeed, you’re probably overwhelmed by the options and unsure where to apply or may be applying everywhere. Furthermore, these sites rarely have a human interaction during their application process, which leaves you with little reassurance that your application is being taken seriously.

When you work with an employment agency, you’re more than just an application—you’re a qualified candidate referral from a trusted source. In addition, agencies provide you with that human interaction. They’ll meet with you and go through your skills and experiences, then tailor a list of job openings that fit you best.

3)     What happens if an agency doesn’t have a job for me?

After a job seeker meets with the agency to highlight their skills and experience, the agency will then try and match them with a job. However, from time to time there may not be a position that fits your needs and skills. Or perhaps you’ll land an interview, but the employer chooses to hire another candidate in the end.

The good news is that the relationship doesn’t end in either of these scenarios. The agency will continue to look for positions that fit your experience, stay in touch and reach out when new opportunities arise.

Remember, you and the employment agency share a common goal: Getting you hired. So even if employment doesn’t happen immediately, they’ll continue to work on it.

4)     How do agencies recruit talent?

Agencies recruit job seekers using a number of different approaches. By using a combination of recruiting strategies, employment agencies are able to locate a great variety of prospects, which greatly increases the chance of the employer eventually hiring the perfect candidate.

Nice article however I havent seen its practicality. I have been to Ultimate HR several times. Dropped CVs , came for walkins but all am told is we shall call you. Nothing comes through. I have 3 years of banking experience from Standard Chartered Bank Uganda. All they ask is where are you from? Africa? Drop your cv. We shall call you. But why? I can perfectly do the job just like any body else. Give us a chance to prove our worth. Ibrahim 0559798151
