The Shot of a Lifetime - GHO Head On

It took me many years to get a photograph like this one. How many times have you seen a great horned owl in day light and captured one in flight head on? There is a lot to learn, a lot to observe and a lot of time on location. Raptors have patterns and habits just like people, a favorite tree for example.
Ask yourself these questions:
When the moment happens will you be prepared to capture it? You may never have a chance at a photograph like this one again. You better believe I had my camera settings dialed in on the Canon R5. Manual mode with a high shutter of 1/2000th of a second to freeze the wings as much as possible. Electronic shutter mode to get 20 frames per second with Auto Focus set to eye tracking.
Now you wait for that split second to engage the shutter.....take a deep breathe ... don't look away.... will you get the shots?
