Shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards
My series of photographs from Antarctica “’From the Ends of the Earth (Part 1)’ has today been shortlisted for the prestigious Sony World Photography Awards.
This year the awards attracted more entries than any other year in its history – with photographers from over 200 countries entering almost 320,000 images. It’s one of the most highly competitive photographic awards in the world, and being shortlisted as one of the top 10 photographers globally in the landscape category with my series from Antarctica is a very big deal and an achievement that I’m really proud of.
However the most important aspect of this news is that it will help raise awareness of the really urgent environmental issues which affect us all on a global scale, and this makes me even more happy.
Winners won’t be announced till April, however there will be an award exhibition at Somerset House of all the shortlisted photographs from 20th April to 6th May.
