Shortlisted for Remediation Project of the Year

We are delighted to announce that EESI Remediation Limited alongside ERM has been shortlisted for the Remediation Project of the Year Category at Environment Analyst's Sustainability Delivery Awards 2024, which will be held in Boston, Massachusetts in June. Our nomination, which is titled Insights from the Sustainable Remediation of an Agrochemical Manufacturing Facility, showcases how we embedded sustainability into each stage of a complex UK remediation project.

Picking up the baton from ERMs sustainability focussed remediation strategy, our main design and delivery element was a low carbon footprint bioremediation treatment solution for recalcitrant OPP pesticide impacted soil. Not resting on our laurels, we further innovated with the application of Sustainable Management Practices (SMPs) that helped us meet our wider sustainability goals and ambitions for the wider remediation and enabling project requirements. The result – one or two ‘feel good’ outcomes via positive local community engagement, several simple, yet novel, ways to make the project more sustainable and many lessons to build on for our future projects.

It was an absolute pleasure working with our client and ERM on this project and huge congratulations to the team for all their hard work delivering this project - fingers crossed.
