This is our first year entering the Wexford Business Awards and, we are so excited and honored to be shortlisted for the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Award. Throughout K&K Windows we consistently strive to maintain a healthy balance between People, Profit and Planet. Throughout this article I will illustrate just a few examples of CSR throughout K&K Windows Ltd.

Although the recession took its toll on almost everyone, we are proud to say that things are on the mend and we are busier than we have been in recent years. “Nothing changes, if nothing changes” and at K&K we are constantly evolving to keep up with the times and to ensure we have the best products and services on the market. That is why we value and praise all of our staff to the very highest standards.

We have steps and factors put in place to ensure these 3 focal points are consistently intertwining withing the organisation and branch out to the broader community where possible.We strive to ensure that this strategy of consistent innovation and communication between the 3 P's keeps us a recognizable, healthy and profitable organisation for as long as possible. It is imperative to us to maintain a healthy balance between work (profit) and social responsibility throughout. We are a small company with a big Heart!

All of K&K Window's products are manufactured in our state-of-the-art factory in Craanford, just outside Gorey, Co. Wexford. We also ensure that your product will be delivered and fitted on time as promised. In addition to this our expert teams will ensure to clean up after fitting to leave your home as they found it.

We endeavor also to ensure we can help our customers avail of all benefits they can. Working together with the government and local councils and other organisations to provide the best service possible e.g. HRI tax back and grants.

Our culture is that we try to make the working environment within the company as enjoyable as possible, we believe that "happy employees, makes for happy customers". With this in mind, we have recently (within the past 18 months- 2 years) hosted events such as our tag archery team bonding day and Open Days with many things for all the stake holders kids to also be involved in e.g. face painting and bouncy castles and BBQ days.

This most definitely attracts potential customers too, as they enjoy their day out. They can shop for their Windows and Doors while the kids are being entertained, it is less stress and a more enjoyable overall experience for the consumer. Through our leads records we find that this more often than not reflects a sale, and, moreover the customer will often refer us to another potential customer, hence becoming economically justifiable.

The employee turnover in K&K Windows ltd is also very low, that in itself speaks volumes. The employees feel more motivated, appreciated and reassured hence morale is at an all time high within the organisation, this is recorded through regular meetings and check-ins and also production is at it's peak.

This years team bonding day in particular was a great success with K&K Windows Ltd, employees and suppliers, raising €1,300.00 for Pieta House Wexford. We choose this charity organisation to donate to as it provides such a broad amazing spectrum of free, mental health care and counselling throughout the Nation.

Mental health is so important to us in a working environment as with the day to day difficulties and stresses of work it can become draining if not enough fun and support is integrated into the job.

Throughout every process in K&K Windows Ltd we aim to recycle as much waste as possible, even to the smallest of things like keeping the used stamps off envelopes to give to the local priest for the missionaries. “Every little Helps”

We are also always extremely conscious of our Eco-system and Environmental well being. In K&K we send all of our cardboard/plastic/paper and glass to be recycled, we do our utmost to reduce the amount of waste. An unusual example of a benefit to the community for this is a horse riding center that takes some shredded paper to use as bedding for their stables, this is because it reduces the amount of dust and is more economical for them.

We do our best to recycle all of our other waste and use the most effective environmentally friendly products and services possible. We think Green in order to protect the environment. All of our uPVC products are lead free (Green-line), there are multiple benefits to this which include that it is environmentally friendly, cost effective with better performance standards.
