Short, Sweet, and to the Point

Short, Sweet, and to the Point

Yesterday was our first Lunch & Learn session of 2024. If you’ve attended one of these free trainings in the past, you may have noticed how short they are. Unless we have a superstar guest speaker, we do our best not to go longer than 30 minutes, including introductory material and the Q&A.

Why so short? It’s not that we don’t have much to say - our friends will tell you it’s quite the opposite. We’re simply adhering to best practices for learning design!

Indeed, several studies have found that focus declines after as few as 20 minutes of lecture time. That means that our audience gets less value out of each additional minute that we talk. That’s not a good use of our time or yours!

Best to keep things short, sweet, and to the point.
