The [short] story of becoming a landlord at 19.

The [short] story of becoming a landlord at 19.

I never imagined embarking on a full-fledged home renovation and becoming a landlord all before turning 20, but it happened!

I've spent the last decade of my life reading and studying individuals who have come from nothing and created success for themselves and the people around them. I feel as though I have explored, in some way or another, practically every industry an entrepreneur can go into, but always planned on eventually transitioning into real estate. It only takes a few minutes of research to understand why over 90% of millionaires in the United States are invested in, and made a large portion of their wealth, from real estate! Take a visit to Google and you can see for yourself!

Anyways, after committing myself to a four-year college, I figured I would have to wait until after graduation to get my feet wet. At least, that's what I thought! A spur of the moment visit to an open house lead to a conversation with one of the leading agents in the state who, after lots of property inspections and LOTS of thought, sold me on the great opportunities of a property just down the street from the house I grew up in.

I won't go into much more detail because nobody has the time to read LinkedIn articles all day, but after six months of renovating and designing (and quite a lot of headaches), I can now call myself a real estate investor! I know, it sounds cliche....but still. Both units rented for above market rates in less than 48 hours on the market! I don't have many pictures of before the renovation, but I've attached the ones I've got and also all of the after photos!

Here are the after pictures!
