?Computational imaging is rapidly advancing with increasing demands from the Semi-con and advanced manufacturing, 3D smart robotics and micro and diffractive optics industries among others.? With advances in camera and lighting technologies along with smart computation tools, a variety of approaches for smart inspection and metrology are becoming possible at a reasonable cost making price-sensitive applications possible. However, the objects to be measured/inspected are quite diverse ranging from diffusely reflective to specular?reflective to transparent to a combination of these. Thus, there is no one solution which fits all and off-shelf systems generally fall short of many industrial requirements. Hence, it is vital to understand basic technologies behind such systems so custom solutions can be developed for specific requirements. This course would enable one to understand the principles and limitations of some of the current technologies available. We would also showcase our AIO-3D microscopes which can provide you with a one-stop solution to a range of 3D technologies in one instrument. This will enable even a small company to have an R&D nook at their site to address inspection and measurement concerns of their customers.

About speaker

?Anand Asundi is the founder and CEO of d’Optron Pte Ltd, a company providing smart cost-effective 3D solutions for inspection and measurement primarily to the semi-con industry but increasingly to other areas of industries. He was formerly a Professor at the University of Hong Kong and more recently Professor and Founding Director of the Centre for Optical and Laser Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University. He has worked extensively in Optical Inspection and Metrology area and some of his patents have been acquired by d’Optron. Apart from solutions provided to our semi-con industry partner, we have done projects for the optics industry, the packaging industry, beer brewers, and robotic industries amongst others.
