A short 2020 recap..
Lynsey Harbottle
Diversity & Inclusion Consultant | Co-Founder at 50:50 Future
I suppose this is more of a brain dump than a recap, but I wanted to take time to sit down and appreciate what we’ve achieved this year..
1.) We pivoted!
Being more digital had always been part of our 50:50 plans, but we didn’t imagine that we’d do it so quickly! After beginning 2020 with our strategy in place, we soon needed rethink everything and turn our plans upside down in order to deliver our consultancy and training online - without losing any of that really important impact.
2.) We’ve worked with some fantastic clients!
From those in the tech sector, not-for-profits, financial services, apprenticeship programmes, recruitment agencies and more. Lockdown has extended our reach and allowed us to work with organisations across the UK alongside those on our doorstep.
3.) We added to the team.
Lyndsey had the most beautiful little boy, Gabe (Gabriel) in September and my happy wee man Jude arrived in February, just before the first lockdown! Pregnancies, births, newborns and business have added a new dynamic to our ‘normal’.
4.) So far, we’ve survived!
We’ve managed to adapt and deliver (training, consultancy and babies!) during a global pandemic. And most importantly, I think we’ve done it pretty damn well! We already have exciting opportunities for 2021 and we love what we do more than ever.
Overall, I’m super thankful. 2020 has been difficult. It’s been hard not being able to see family and friends. It’s been hard to keep the business thriving and alive while also juggling lockdowns, newborns and constant change. But we’re happy, we’re healthy and there’s a lot of positives and lovely things that have happened this year.
For now, I’ll cling on to the positives!
Merry Christmas, thank you all for your support and here’s to 2021 - and whatever it throws at us!
Much love,
Lyns
