Local is lekker is probably one of the most overused phrases in the South African dictionary but there’s no better way to describe the new Homegrown range from Shoprite. As its name suggests, all the products from this range are from local SMEs, with locally produced ingredients and will be available from your local Shoprite soon!?

This exclusive Private Labelling initiative is not only an effort to promote and support local businesses and entrepreneurs by offering them a retail platform but also to give consumers the opportunity to experience locally produced goods of the utmost quality. Now that we think about it… It’s like a Farmer’s market packaged for your convenience.?

The idea behind buying local is to support the local economy, reduce environmental impact by reducing transportation and packaging, and promote a sense of community and connection.
