Shopify Updates, Features, and Changes 2023

Shopify is one of the most popular and powerful e-commerce platforms in the world, powering over 2 million online stores. Shopify is constantly improving and adding new features and updates to help merchants grow their businesses and provide better shopping experiences for their customers.

POS printed receipts enhancements - custom QR code

One of the latest Shopify updates for point-of-sale (POS) merchants is the ability to add a custom QR code to their printed receipts. This feature allows merchants to create a QR code that links to any URL, such as their website, social media, loyalty program, feedback form, or anything else they want to promote or share with their customers. Merchants can customize the text below the QR code, such as a call to action or a thank-you message. Google Analytics 4

Another important Shopify update is the integration with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), the latest version of Google's web analytics tool. GA4 is designed to provide more insights into customer behavior, preferences, and trends across different devices and platforms. Shopify merchants can now connect their online store to GA4 and access new reports and features, such as enhanced e-commerce, cross-domain measurement, funnel analysis, and more. Merchants can use the Home tab to access their dashboard, settings, and reports. The Orders tab allows merchants to view, edit, and fulfill their orders. The Products tab lets merchants browse, search, and manage their products. Connecting Shopify Balance with QuickBooks

Shopify has also introduced a new feature that allows merchants to connect their Shopify Balance account with QuickBooks, a popular accounting software. Shopify Balance is a banking service that helps merchants manage their finances, such as accepting payments, paying bills, and tracking expenses. By connecting Shopify Balance with QuickBooks, merchants can automatically sync their transactions and balances and easily reconcile their books. Shopify has added some new rich text features to its online store editor, which helps merchants create and edit their store's content, such as pages, blogs, and product descriptions. Some new features include:
