Shook Construction Expands in Indianapolis
Shook Construction
Dramatically improving the communities we serve since 1926.
Having served Indiana since the opening of its Indianapolis office in 1994, Shook Construction recently relocated its office to Castleton Park.
“I am thrilled that we have been able to invest in a new office facility and can build on our 28-year history of focus and strength in Indiana’s industrial and manufacturing market. As we look to expand our local presence with Shook’s expertise in healthcare, water resources and education, this new facility provides additional space for a collaborative and professional environment to our growing team, clients, the design and engineering community, and trade partners in Indiana,” shared President and CEO Chris Halapy.
Shook serves as a general contractor, construction manager, design-builder, and subcontractor in the industrial and heavy manufacturing market throughout Indiana. Clients include manufacturers of automobiles and heavy equipment, food production and distribution facilities, utility providers and any institution that generates power, steam or chilled water. Shook often self-performs demolition, excavation, concrete, rough carpentry, and equipment setting in this market. In addition, they are an active member of the AGC of Indiana and the Indiana Subcontractors Association.
Moreover, Shook has performed construction management or design-build services in the education, healthcare and water resources markets throughout Ohio and beyond since 1926. With significant growth in these markets in the last few years, expanding into the Indianapolis market has become a part of the firm’s strategic plan.
“Shook’s commitment to provide the full depth of our expertise to the market, in addition to our continued industrial presence, gives us the ability to further grow and deliver on our mission To Dramatically Improve the Communities we Serve,” explained Vice President Rob Wineland.
The mission to serve has been a pillar of Shook since its inception. It is achieved by tying a community outreach initiative to each project the company builds. Last year, Shook team members constructed handicap ramps for Servants at Work, Inc. (SAWs), an organization that provides wheelchair ramps to low-income, permanently disabled individuals. Additionally, Christel House Indianapolis won the 2021 Shooksgiving Challenge, receiving the grand prize donation to further its mission for positive change in the community.
