MIAMI – Shohei Ohtani made history once again on Thursday night, becoming the first player in Major League Baseball history to record 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. The Los Angeles Dodgers star accomplished the feat in spectacular fashion during a 20-4 victory over the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park.
A Historic Night for Ohtani
Shohei Ohtani’s three home runs, six hits, and 10 RBIs led the Dodgers to a resounding win over the Marlins, cementing his place as one of the most dominant players in baseball history. His 50th home run in the seventh inning marked a career high and a franchise record for the Dodgers, while his two stolen bases earlier in the game pushed him into the 50/50 club.
Ohtani’s first milestone came early in the game when he stole his 50th base in the first inning. In the sixth inning, he hit a 438-foot home run for his 49th of the season. Then, in the seventh inning, Ohtani blasted a 391-foot shot into the stands to officially make history.
