Shoe Launches at Naot and Paige

Israeli shoe company Naot launches a new line of dress shoes, denim brand Paige launches its first collection of men’s footwear and Two Ten’s WIFI community comes together to discuss networking.

Israeli Footwear Maker Naot Is Launching a Dress Shoe Line

Naot might be best known for its sandals. But now, the Israeli shoe company is making a new name for itself in the dress shoe category with a new collection that launches this fall.

“Ayelet by Naot,” the brainchild of Naot’s president of U.S. operations Ayelet Lax Levy, is the company’s new dress shoe line, which launches this fall with ten styles, ranging from kitten heels to booties. The collection is currently available for pre-order.

Lax Levy, who studied shoe design and engineering, always envisioned starting her own footwear line before she began working in U.S. operations at Naot with her father, Steve Lax, current chairman of Naot Worldwide and president of Yaleet Inc. In a post-pandemic world that emphasized comfort and style, the stars finally aligned.

“After Covid, I saw this major shift of wanting to let go of our Covid look and really dress up again,” Lax Levy told FN in an interview at the brand’s New York City flagship store, which opened in 2022. Seeing these changes, Lax Levy connected with a factory in Italy and worked with Naot’s technologists to inject the company’s trademark comfort into its new heels. The new shoes feature a four-millimeter Poron insole for comfort and an outsole made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Each shoe also features has a small jewelry accent on the heel to emphasize a “quiet luxury” look.

Paige Steps Into Men’s?Footwear

Premium denim brand Paige continues to grow its footprint in the men’s market.

The Los Angeles-based company introduced its first collection of men’s footwear for spring 2024. Versatility underpins the collection, which spans four sneakers and two boots in multiple colors and fabrications.

The Holzer Chelsea boot boasts a slim rubber outsole and genuine leather welt and stitch details. The classic boot is available in sand and chocolate brown suede.

The Coyle and Farrell sneakers caters to “the guy who is always on-the-go,” the brand stated. Available in bone and black suede, the Coyle is a low profile sneaker made with a contrast rubber bottom. The Farrell, a lace-up cupsole kick, is available in black suede and white leather uppers.

Zoom out: Paige introduced its first women’s footwear collection in 2018. It now spans sandals, loafers, heels, sneakers and boots. The addition of men’s footwear highlights the brand’s commitment to providing men a complete wardrobe solution.

Two Ten’s WIFI Community Talks Networking Successes, Career Advancement Advice in Virtual Series

The Two Ten Foundation‘s Women in the Footwear Industry (WIFI) community came together this week for an insightful conversation centered around the theme of networking success stories.

As part of WIFI’s virtual content series sponsored by Aldo Group, moderator Eli Del Carmen, vice president of sales at Caleres, was joined by Elaine Eaton, vice president of wholesale at Crocs, and Jennifer Hutchison, director of operations at BBC International, to discuss how they utilize their networks to advance their career goals, what worked, what didn’t and more.

Eaton, a 21-year footwear industry veteran, started with speaking about the importance of using networking beyond just career advancement. “I use networking to exchange ideas and knowledge within the industry,” Eaton said. “I find people can be a great sounding board for me whether it’s a challenge I’m working through, or maybe it’s a new category we’re thinking about adding at Crocs. So, it’s about who can I pull in from my personal network that I can tap into their knowledge.”
