After 2 weeks of pulling security duty, Capitol police officials ordered them to vacate the facility and sending them outdoor or nearby parking garage.
The temperature in Washington is as low as 40s by nightfall where 100s of National Guard troops found themselves in one parking lot beneath the federal court building.

Around 19,000 of the troops deployed from Washington started their packing for returning to their home states, this process will take up to 10 days, said the officials.
While remaining 7,000 of them were expected to stay in Washington for least till the end of January to support federal agencies and guard for any possibility of any other riot at the capitol.
With troops safely returned to the Capitol premises by Friday, many lawmakers, Including Senators Chuck Schumer of New York, the majority leader, and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the top Republican – made a meeting with the soldiers on Friday.
“I have told those who run the security of the Capitol that it can never happen again and I pledge to every National Guard member that it will not happen again,” Mr. Schumer stated in his speech on the floor.
