25000+ US National Guard troops were deployed to the nation capitol to ensure the safe transitional power to the inauguration. Were now come with this upsetting images where 100s of troops were sleeping on a parking garage. After 2 weeks of pulling security duty, Capitol police officials ordered them to vacate the facility and sending them outdoor or nearby parking garage.

The temperature in Washington is as low as 40s by nightfall where 100s of National Guard troops found themselves in one parking lot beneath the federal court building.

 “Yesterday dozens of senators and congressmen walked down our lines taking photos, shaking our hands, and thanking us for our service. Within 24 hours, they had no further use for us and banished us to the corner of a parking garage. We feel incredibly betrayed,” said the Guardsman.

Both the parties took Twitter to criticize the decision and asked for the answers after the news was first reported on Thursday night, with some even offering their offices to be used as a rest area.

Congressman Sen. Tammy Duckworth : who is partially paralyzed said “Just made a number of calls and have been informed Capitol Police have apologized to the Guardsmen and they will be allowed back into the complex tonight,” and handed out 100s of pizzas for the troops who are feeling exhausted and faced difficulty in sleeping under high fluorescent light.

“Off-duty troops are being housed in hotel rooms or other comfortable accommodations,” stated Major Murphy.

Around 19,000 of the troops deployed from Washington started their packing for returning to their home states, this process will take up to 10 days, said the officials.

While remaining 7,000 of them were expected to stay in Washington for least till the end of January to support federal agencies and guard for any possibility of any other riot at the capitol.

With troops safely returned to the Capitol premises by Friday, many lawmakers, Including Senators Chuck Schumer of New York, the majority leader, and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the top Republican – made a meeting with the soldiers on Friday.

“I have told those who run the security of the Capitol that it can never happen again and I pledge to every National Guard member that it will not happen again,” Mr. Schumer stated in his speech on the floor.
