The Shock of Recognition - 3.0

The Shock of Recognition - 3.0

We’re going to see this expression on his face on a regular basis as the coming weeks unfold.

Volodymyr Zelensky is beginning to experience what’s called “the shock of recognition.” He now finds himself in the unpleasant place in which others have preceded him: Ngo Dinh Diem, Nguyen Van Thieu, Nguyen Cao Ky, Jalal Talabani, Ashraf Ghani, Manuel Noriega, Saddam Hussein…

What do they all have in common?

These are folks who made the mistake of trusting the U.S. to have their back for “as long as it takes,” only to find themselves on their own and vulnerable to their enemies…while the U.S. silently slipped away quietly wiping its hands. (Yes, we once backed Saddam Hussein and Manuel Noriega.)

The American mainstream media – the groveling servants of the deep state – will quickly “memory hole” the Ukraine episode and direct you to Israel/Gaza or Taiwan and the next U.S.-produced fiasco. “Nothing to see here.”

It’s the same act, endlessly repeated.

It always fails, while destroying lives and treasure.

And we continue to fall for it like rural rubes at their first circus.

If we really were interested in stopping this war, we would open all areas of the country to oil production and drive the price down...that would put quite a dent in Putin's ability to prosecute the war. At the same time, we would make clear to China that if they continue to support Russia, then they have no access to US or European markets for their exports...how fast do you think that would change the calculus? ??

All we can hope for now is that we shame ourselves again and pull out of this mess with a settlement. Otherwise, as you said, this isn’t going to end well. We should not have kept pushing our NATO expansion agenda and left Vlad alone.
