Actually Lord Shiva is known as Ashutosh or one who can be easily pleased . Also he does not discriminate hence is equally accessible to demons and good people also. He is also known as ardhanareshwar or a half woman . So worshipping Lord Shiva is equivalent to worshipping Matha Shakti also. Moreover one does nit need elaborate rituals to pray to him nor is he strict in method of worship. So even a cremation ground also is a good place of worship ! He is the one who existed even before the world began. He is the one who has been prayed to even when He was unseen. And ever since the very first time He chose to make His presence known , Lord Shiva is loved by millions. This particular hymn in which every verse ends with the words ‘Shivoham Shivoham’. Upon some research, came to know that the hymn is called as ‘Nirvana Shatakam’ is a powerful mantra. But, the underlying idea is that ‘I am not bound by anything, be it physical(materialistic) or mental(in the form of any idea), I am the blissful consciousness, I am Shiva’. Shiva” here means that innocent, blissful, splendid, golden, beautiful auspicious. “Shivoham” — I am Shiva. Splendid, the most innocent. When we chant Shivoham we have to feel the Siva Tattva. We also should believe in our eternity while chanting Shivoham. I am the formless though I am inside a form. My spirit has no form.
