The term “anadi” is better spelt as “anaadi”. It can be split as “an+aadi” which means “no+beginning” or without a beginning. Similarly “anant” can be split as ““an+ant” meaning ““no+end” or without end. Anaadi and Anant are characteristics which refer to an entity without beginning and end, in other words it is some thing which always exists and shall exist. That which has no beginning , no ending. Perennial. Infinity means a number or a thing which is greater than one can think or imagine. Boundaryless . Sanatan dharm says shiv is anadi has no beginning and anant, no ending, no boundary, no limits. Unlimited . This is a name given to chetanya or consciousness . It is represented by lingam. Ox re-presents mind of bhakt. Snake re-presents order by Guru or preacher to hold on this concept as strongly as snake holds something.
The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, also called as "Tryambakam Mantra", is a verse of Rigveda. This peaceful spiritual chant is addressed to Tryambaka, 'the three eyes one' an advancement of Rudra later identified as Shiva. The meaning of Mantra is given below. Maha mrityunjaya Mantra one of the oldest and most significant Mantras in Indian mythology and spirituality. The Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap addresses Lord Shiva. It is a blend of three Hindi language words i.e. ‘Maha’, which means great, ‘Mrityun’ means death and ‘Jaya’ means victory, which is translated as victory over death. It is also famous as ‘Rudra Mantra’ or ‘Trayambakam Mantra’. The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is known to have been made by Rishi Markandeya. It is said that the Moon was once in difficulty, cursed by King Daksha. Rishi Markandeya bestowed Sati, Daksha’s daughter, with the Mahamritryunjaya Mantra for the Moon. According to another translation this is the Bija mantra as disclosed to Rishi Kahola that was presented by Lord Shiva to sage Sukracharya, who taught it to Rishi Dadichi, who gave it to King Kshuva, through whom it reached the Shiva Purana.
This Mantra is related to very aggressive form of Lord Shiva. Benefits of Maha Mrityunjay Mantra Jaap: When chanted with sincerity, conviction and devotion, this mantra proves to be a lifesaving mantra. The best time to this mantra is early morning hours (Brahma Muhurta), around 4.00AM. One must practice to chant this mantra minimum 9 times before you going to office or leaving from the home and before going to bed or taking medicines.
One must also chant this mantra for good health and wealth and must make it a practice to chant once when you apply bhasma or holy ash or vibhuthi or chandan or kumkum. Filling a glass with water, sit facing east and pray to Lord Shiva. At the same time, you must close the top of the glass with the palm of your right hand, and chant the mantra for 1008 times, spray the water inside the house, take few teaspoons and give it to people. You can invoke the energy of Lord Shiva in the water by doing this type of maha mrityunjaya jaap.
Chant as many times possible sitting next to people who are ill or under pain. Regularly chant or play it in a recorder if there is a terminally ill patient around. If your friends or relatives are suffering from cancer, play the mantra or chant regularly to reduce the pain. It is said that Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra Jaap generates divine vibrations that ward off all the negative and evil forces and creates a powerful protective shield. Regular chanting will protect you from sudden death, accidents, famine, misfortunes of any kind, calamity and unexplained situations.

According to Shiva Purana, Shiva is the Supreme God. Once Lord Vishnu and Brahma fought over supremacy among themselves, then Shiva manifested himself into a column of fire. And Vishnu and Brahma were not able to find the start and end of the column, thus reverred Shiva as Mahadev ( Lord of the Lord's ). According to Vishnu Purana, Lord Vishnu is supreme and Shiva originated from the eyebrows of Lord Vishnu, and that is why Shiva is mostly in meditative state. It further states that Vishnu first came into being, and from his navel sprout a lotus bearing Brahma in it, and from Vishnu’s left body came Shiva.
