Uddhav Thackeray Hits Back at Modi's 'Fake' Jibe, Asserts Strength of Shiv Sena in Lok Sabha Elections
The political landscape in Maharashtra is heating up as Uddhav Thackeray, the chief of Shiv Sena, responded strongly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent remarks labeling his party as "fake." Thackeray, while addressing a campaign rally in Boisar on April 12, reminded Modi of the "fake degree" controversy that had surrounded him in the past, according to an ANI report.
In a sharp retort, Thackeray emphasized that the Shiv Sena, established by Bal Thackeray, cannot be dismissed as "fake" by Modi or anyone else. He challenged the notion, saying, "It is not your degree to call it fake. Is this your degree which you are calling fake?"
The exchange of words comes amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024, where Thackeray expressed confidence in the INDIA alliance, predicting a sweeping victory with over 300 seats. He reiterated the party's commitment to the cause it was founded upon – fighting for the rights of the sons of the soil.
The recent sparring between Thackeray and Modi stems from the latter's comments made during a rally in Chandrapur, where Modi criticized the INDIA alliance, including the Shiv Sena, for their stance on various issues.
Adding fuel to the fire, Home Minister Amit Shah joined the fray by referring to the three allied parties in Maharashtra as having "fake" and "half" elements, highlighting internal rifts within the coalition.
