Kishore Shintre
#newdaynewchapter is a Blog narrative started on March 1, 2021 co-founded by Kishore Shintre & Sonia Bedi, to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
The first thing I would like to mention is yoga, which not only helps to control our senses but also guides our spirituality. It helps to leave our worldly inhibitions and get connected with God. Shiv Puran offers the readers to learn it directly from Aadiyogi. There is a paramount importance given to Karma, as Shiva is God of destruction, Mahakaal, there is a section dedicated to After life and how it’s the Karma of beings that decide their fate , happiness or miseries in their life and beyond.
The book again has a section which gives importance to education and knowledge, and how it’s the duty of Guru to not only imbibe knowledge and ethics in the disciple but also enlighten his/her journey of life like Dakshinamoorthy. It establishes a strong difference between Lust and Love,in various sections through the journey of our very own, Kaamesh, and advocates to be a follower of latter (Love).
Then there are stories of rock solid devotion from devotees like Upmanyu ( a small child, willing to taste milk and milk products), emphasizing how you just need to have pure heart and love to please our Aashutosh. There are stories of Shri Krishna's devotion to Shiva and his battle with him for Usha-Aniruddh alliance. The various forms(Roop) and poartial incarnations of Mahadev like Veerbhadra, Piplada etc are discussed.(Aditee Apurvaa's answer to If Lord Hanuman was the 11th avatar of Lord Rudra, who were the other 10 avatars?)
The book also brings the story of Shiva and Shivaa as a couple. The whole Parvati khand is dedicated to them, and how they make their way back to each other, the human incarnation of Aadishakti, and the challenges involved with it. It also brings to it’s readers lot of emotions and how to channelize it.
Shiva Purana is greatest book to know about Supreme Lord Shiva. Shiva Purana is book which gives knowledge of divine play of almighty God Shiva.
Everything in Shiva Purana is amazing, it can read by beginner to advance one who seek to know more about Mahadev. Shiva Purana shows glory of God Shiva. In every chapter we find information about Mahadeva. It is summary of all Vedas And Puranas. One who wants to know about Mahadeva, must read it.
Learning from Shiva Purana. I learn some wonderful things from Shiva Purana. Lord Shiva can only reached by devotion. Lord Shiva says they depends on devotee. Devotees are dear to them and they take care of devotee. In Shiva Purana we find about how to live a perfect life, what quality should a devotee have. Learned about transcendental pastimes of Lord Shiva. Can know about partial incarnations of Lord Shiva. We find how dear Lord Vishnu is to Lord Shiva, and how dear Lord Shiva is to Lord Vishnu. In one adhyaya, Lord Shiva says that Lord Vishnu is in heart of Shiva and Lord Vishnu also says O Siva, you are in my heart.

Read Shiva Purana with devotion towards Lord Shiva. Put complete faith in Shiva and you can learn things which will dramatically improve your life. Shiva Purana is a religious corpus authored by Srila Ved Vyasa and discusses the following of Puranic literature. It eulogizes the glory and greatness of Lord Shiva as the primordial being in the creation. It describes the rituals and philosophical principles of the Shaiva cult the roots of which goes back to the origin of the Pashupata yogis who are hailed to have been the first ever worshippers of the bull-bannered god.
It hails descriptions, holy sermons and dissertations on the majesties of the supreme divinity of the blue-throated god. It recounts the aspects of Lord Shiva's embodied emblems (Damaru, Trishula, Vibhuti, Lingam, etc.), attributes, opulences, exploits and incarnations in the various Kalpas. It narrates sagas on the origin and importance of the phallic image of Lord Shiva and the merits obtained upon installing & consecrating of the image.
?ivapurā?a, as its title signifies is a ?aiva Purā?a. It derives its designation from the fact that it eulogises the glory and greatness of ?iva, describes the ritual and philosophical principles of ?iva cult, embodies descriptions, sermons and dissertations on the greatness of his divinity, recounts his emblems, attributes, exploits and incarnations, narrates legends on the origin and importance of his phallic image and dwells upon the merit of installing and consecrating that image.
Shiva Purana is hailed to have been once the largest religious corpus composed by Ved Vyasa numbering exactly one hundred thousand verses consisting of twelve Samhitas (books) but the number of Samhitas were numbered down to seven by the son of Parashara during the course of reconstruction and abridgement of the other Puranas. According to the records of the Vāyavīya, the original ?ivapurā?a consisted of twelve Sā?hitās. That is to say, in addition to the extant seven there were five more Sa?hitās viz. Vaināyaka, Māt?, Rudraikāda?a, Sahasrako?i and Dharma. The complete group of twelve Sa?hitās comprised one hundred thousand ?lokas. But five of the group were dropped in the course of reconstruction and abridgement of the purā?as. The extant ?ivapurā?a is an abridged edition and comprises twenty-four thousand ?lokas. The redaction was made by the sage K???a Dvaipāyana Vyāsa himself.
The current Shiva Purana of the current Kalpa (Bhadrakalpa) has been decided by Ved Vyasa and it consists of twenty-four thousand verses arranged into seven Samhitas. Vidyeswara. Rudra. Shatarudra. Kotirudra. Uma. Kailasha. Vayaviya. The extant text of ?ivapurā?a is arranged into seven Sa?hitās designated as Vidye?vara, Rudra, ?atarudra, Ko?irudra, Umā, Kailāsa and Vāyavīya. The second of these, Rudrasa?hitā, is divided into five sections, viz. Creation, the narrative of Satī, the biography of Pārvatī, the birth and adventures of Kumāra and ?iva’s battles. The seventh Sa?hitā—Vāyavīya—has two parts (Pūrvabhāga and Uttarabhāga). It is called Vāyavīya, for though it was recited by the Sūta at the Naimi?a forest, it was originally proclaimed by Vāyu at the advent of ?vetakalpa.
Shiva Purana, literally means Sacred Text or Book associated with Mythology of Shiva. Though there are majorly eighteen mythological books or Purana, The Shiva Purana, Devi Purana and Vishnu Purana stand as the major one, because the God discussed here is very elaborate and loving, as stated by early Gupta or probably Mauryan and sacred literature from ancient and medieval Hindu India. Shiva is one in the formula of GOD, he is D the Destroyer and stands differentiated from Generator Brahma and Organizer Vishnu. Many contemporary as well as comparative mythological experts state that Shiva destroys the world. But no, Shiva is known as Yamantaka and Kamantaka, the destroyer of fear of death and starvation and also love and desires. The idea is broadened in this book and practiced through elaborate rituals.
Well puranas were written by devotees and sages. And purana include divine knowledge as well as personal opinion of the writer, this verse is opinion of writer not the order of god, purans are not like vedas and upnishad which were direct words of God, so there may be personal opinion in purana. Because god shiva always stood for gender equality and equal representation of both gender, you can see ardhanareshwar swaroop, In this swaroop, half of body occupied by god shiva and other half by goddess Parvati, representing that both prakriti and purusha are equal, both gender are equal.
First you need to understand, there was different lifestyle when purans were written. So during that time, male used to do heavy and outer work, while women used to do household works/ Now it's obvious, that outer and heavy works require more energy. So it was 'advised' that men should eat first because their body need that food first primarily. Second thing, it was not mandatory, It was just an advice, like most of Hindu religious books give, a person is free to do any work, he or she is responsible for her/his own karma. In that point of time, to make a cultured society, it was just an advice. Om Namah Shivay
