Shit, Silver Linings & Savings
Well. Here we are. Another Monday. Hate ‘em or love ‘em, Monday’s are inevitable. Today is NOT a good Monday. It’s shit. Why?
It’s getting colder. It’s getting darker. An election is upon us. The Yankees are going to the World Series. I’m eating tofu for dinner tonight. And worst of all, I’m all out of toilet paper.
All disasters. I know. No one has ever Monday’d as hard as I am right now. Down so bad.
When you wake up on a Monday as low as I am today, it’s important to find some silver linings. Now listen up, I LOVE silver linings. The concept of them, the name “silver linings”, everything about them. You essentially just get to be like “well everything sucks… BUT this one small, tiny thing makes it all fine.” It’s a cheat code for feeling better.
Also, as I like to do here on Trust Fun, let’s do a quick history lesson on the phrase “Silver Lining”-
Where does the phrase "Silver Lining" come from?
Don’t look until you click cuz I’m going to give the answer here….
The phrase “silver lining” comes from John Milton’s 1634 poem Comus. In the poem, Milton refers to a “silver lining” of a cloud, implying that even in dark times, there’s always a bit of hope shining through. Basically, the 1600s version of "Look on the bright side" — only fancier and more poetic!
So, there you have it. Even if you didn’t have a silver lining this morning, now you do! You just learned something new. Boom. You’re welcome.
Welcome to week 53 of Trust Fun. Find a silver lining today. Mine is that I bought a ton of stuff online last week that’s coming this week. Retail therapy always works.

BFCM Prepping
As we all know, BFCM (Black Friday, Cyber Monday) is creeping up on us. Everyone is trying to come up with the deal they’re going to offer that’s going to beat last year’s. Higher discount? Better gift? New product launch?
I’m a discount hater. Hate them. As a shopper, they’re never enough. Unless I’m getting like $50+ off, it doesn’t move the needle for me. Saving like $13 isn’t gonna get me excited. And if I want to buy it, I’m just gonna buy it.
My guess is lots of consumers feel the same as me. Is it nice to save $13? Ya sure. Great. That’s (ALMOST) 1 Chipotle burrito. But I don’t really care.
But a free gift? Something creative? Something I’ll actually use? Now we’re talking.
And guess what…?! The amount of cool shit you can make for $13 instead of just handing away margin to to your customer (who clearly don’t appreciate it) is astronomical.
That’s exactly what Riant Products does. They help you design & create SICK gift with purchases for your ecommerce business for WAYYYY less than $13. From concept, to design, to helping you land the product in your warehouse, Riant Products are EXPERTS in building top tier gift with purchases for you.
Not an ad, just a fact. They literally can make anything, way better than you can, and for way cheaper.
They made my hats. They’re INSANELY good. And crazy good pricing.
That’s all I got for you today. Give gifts not discounts.
