SHINING THE LIGHT ON COMMUNITY SUPPORT

SHINING THE LIGHT ON COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Our goal at Lifeline Central Vic and Mallee is to ensure no-one has to go through their darkest moments alone.

The impact from donations is more than just a dollar sign, it represents the amount of extra calls we can provide to those in need.

Every $39 dollars raised equates to one extra call we can take on the 13 11 14 National crisis support line.

If we raise $3500 that allows us to train 1 volunteer crisis supporter. This means an additional 152 hours minimum on the phone each year and a minimum of 312 calls answered.

The support we receive during the Push Up Challenge is a fun way for the Community to participate and see the impact their donation makes. Raising awareness in regards to mental health is such a vital part of the challenge which highlights the impact of suicide in Australia.

Not everyone likes to be in the spotlight and we want to say thank you to those who wish to remain anonymous when making a donation.

Making new connections through this challenge is also important and this gives us a chance to work with some amazing individuals and businesses along the way.

Connecting with Anytime Fitness in Kangaroo Flat and Kennington who have more than 16 of their staff supporting us is a great example of this.?

During Lockdown last year the Push Up Challenge gave them something to focus on while they were unable to operate.?

The importance of connection during times of isolation along with physical activity plays a large part in ensuring you are looking after your mental health.

There are so many individuals participating and doing such a wonderful job, it’s a great feeling knowing we have so many supporters in our Community. We hope all of our supporters realise how much their contribution means, not just to our Centre but all the people they will be helping to receive support.
