Shifting Sands

Educators and Teachers,

How has 4th Industrial Revolution affected your perspective and how you teach your students? Interesting video. So much is changing in education to be able to adapt to COVID, but this paradigm shift has been happening for quite some time.

"Knowledge and learning are humanity's greatest renewable resources for responding to challenges and inventing alternatives."

I applaud educators who have to adapt by the minute in order to teach this year during this pandemic. So many educators are experiencing their first year teaching even though they have been teaching 5+, 10+, 20+ years. Virtual learning and elearning are not part of the teaching practicum (mostly) or courses taught at university for education majors. This is changing of course as universities are having to adapt themselves to how they instruct future educators.

What do you think are the most important qualities educators need to have to be able to teach in this new normal?

I am taking courses for my own professional development growth in adult learning, elearning, neuroscience of learning, and elearning tools to grow my own skills in these areas and what I am finding is it is an entirely different anatomy and pedagogy for instruction. The focus of the future of education must be on helping children and adults learn to learn and how to think about new possibilities.
