Shift Your Perspective, Transform Your Life!

Shift Your Perspective, Transform Your Life!

I just returned from an incredible conference for speakers, the National Speakers Association (NSA) conference. Imagine the best of the best national speakers all in one place—hundreds of them! It was an impressive and truly awesome experience.?

However, it can also be quite intimidating. At times, I let my saboteurs take over, feeling intimidated and thinking, “Can I do this? Will I be this successful? Everyone seems more successful than me.” None of these thoughts are true, and most are not logical, yet they still crept into my mind.

Hence today, I want to talk about the power of perspective and the hope that builds resilience and helps you achieve your goals. If this helped me, I hope it can help you change how you see a situation and reframe it.

?Why This Is Important

Here’s the scenario: You see someone really crushing it in your field. While you may feel happy for them and celebrate their success, you might also feel a tinge of insecurity or envy, thinking, “Do I have what it takes to do what they do?” This kind of brain talk is not helpful in the slightest!?

Instead, adopting a positive perspective can help you see opportunities instead of obstacles, enhancing your problem-solving skills and overall happiness. After engaging in some Positive Intelligence (PQ) practices and leaning into my sage, I asked myself, “Why can’t I do what they do?” If you ask this question, you will soon discover that YOU CAN! You will do it your way, based on what you envision for YOURSELF.

?? The Big Aha Moment

While you may pursue speaking, inspiring, teaching, or helping others to SERVE them, you also do it FOR yourself.?

Before you say, “No way, that’s so self-serving!” consider this:?A financial investor?wants to serve others by making smart investments, but they do it because they love it and ultimately benefit from it. The same goes for?real estate agents—they help clients buy property and serve them diligently, but they also earn a commission.

Serving others benefits you in the long run.?This applies to every aspect?of a professional career. For me, I serve others by opening their minds to solutions, exploring the joy in everyday life, and providing mental fitness training that allows them to access more of their innate wisdom. By doing this successfully, I gain experience, meet new people, speak all over the world, and influence others. I see new places and live my purpose by serving others.

What's In It For Me (WIIFM)?- A LIFE-CHANGING OUTLOOK

When I applied the WIIFM principle to the NSA experience, I started listing all sorts of benefits. I am learning from the best. They teach me what to do and what not to do, as they have been doing this for decades longer than I have. Their generosity in sharing best practices is invaluable. I learn and get ideas about where I can speak—how lucky can I be?

?

?? Change in Perspective

Framing my experiences in a positive rather than negative mindset has been transformative. What I am learning now will benefit me later. For me, the sky is the limit.

?? The Power of Perspective and Hope

Perspective is the way you interpret and make sense of your experiences. Shifting to a positive perspective involves reframing challenges as opportunities for growth and seeing the bigger picture beyond immediate challenges. Mix that with hope— the belief in a better future, which fuels motivation and perseverance—and you have a powerful combination.

?

@Brian Biro's session was amazing! Here together with my friend and colleague @Natalie Siston! Together we rise!

????Interesting Findings

  • Studies show?that people who practice positive reframing are more resilient and less prone to stress.
  • A growth mindset, which views challenges as opportunities to learn, is a key component of a positive perspective.
  • Research indicates?that hopeful individuals are more resilient and less likely to experience chronic stress.
  • Shifting your perspective?can help you identify new solutions and opportunities that you might have overlooked.

? What You Can Do

  1. Practice positive self-talk.?Replace negative thoughts with constructive ones.
  2. Look for the silver lining?in challenging situations. Ask yourself, “What can I learn from this?”
  3. Set small, achievable goals?to maintain a sense of progress and hope.

??? Advice

Try this: “Instead of focusing on what’s going wrong or what you are lacking, focus on what you can learn and how you can grow.”

Say this: “I will look at challenges from a new angle. I will contemplate WIIFM to learn and remind myself that there is always hope for a better and brighter future.”
