A Shift In Powers

A Shift In Powers

Back in 2021, 47 million workers quit their jobs, causing a shift in powers. What once was an employer's market quickly became an employee's market. From increased compensation and unlimited PTO to flexible schedules and games in the office, employers scrambled to find ways to attract and retain talent. But as hiring rates have outpaced firing rates, we are seeing yet another shift in power.

According to an HR Dive survey, 9 in 10 employers will require employees to be back in the office for at least part of the week starting in 2023. Currently, 3/4th of desks in offices around the country are empty. And those companies that require in-office days are already experiencing low attendance rates; companies requiring 2 days see an average of 1.1 days in the office.

As the power shift between employers and employees continues, what do you think this will look like by the end of 2023? Better yet, are you prepared?
