The Shift to Freelancing

The Shift to Freelancing

1)????? Think of this situation….

You get up drowsily from bed and rush to get ready for work. Hurriedly brushing your teeth and taking a bath, before dressing up in haste and literally galloping towards your workplace in a hurry. Especially if you are in cities such as Bangalore or Chennai, the traffic during prime-time would be a major hurdle.

Finally, when you reach the office, you are penalized because you are late and your manager reprimands you for problems in your attire (dirt on the shoes, tied knotted improperly, no full-sleeves etc.) Grumbling, you get to work and toil hard throughout the day (HRs eyes are still on you to ensure you do not check your mobile). At the end of the day, you are asked to stay late for some extra work.

At the end of the month, when you eagerly await your salary (with excitement as you had done extra work), you find deductions (in addition to PF, lunch allowance, parking allowance, staying alive allowance!), because you haven’t completed targets! This is an example of almost every kind of regular corporate job in modern India. But you will have constant income.

2)????? Think of this situation….

You get up when you want. Check your mail/whatsapp for messages from client. Have something to munch and start work immediately on the client’s requirements.?

You may still be in your pajamas and you did not have to travel an inch. Moreover, you decide how much time you will take for the work and how much you get paid. The money received may be dependent on the amount of work and it will not be regular. ?Work is given to you based on the client’s needs and there will be a lot of competition for the same role. This is an example of a freelancer’s lifestyle.

Comparing both of them, it comes as no surprise that more and more employees are making a shift to freelancing in India as well as other parts of the world.

Now the Topic

In recent years, the rise of digital platforms has revolutionized how freelancers connect with clients from around the globe. These online communities have provided a virtual space where talented individuals can showcase their skills and find lucrative opportunities. As a result, freelancers in India are now free of geographical limitations but can tap into a global market.

Freelancing has become increasingly popular in India, allowing individuals to work on their terms and connect with clients from around the world. Let us be frank. There are mass layoffs in every sector; not only in India, but also in rest of the world. So, how will these people survive?

And transportation to work is getting more difficult by the moment. When compared to thi, freelancing assumably gives workers the following benefits. 1. In freelancing, your educational qualification does not decide your designation. Your talent does.

  1. In freelancing, you have the opportunity to work-from-home or work-from-everywhere. The flexibility is astounding!
  2. You decide how much you are paid! There are no deductions in freelancing contracts. You are paid solely for the work you do and you decide the cost.
  3. You can work for multiple clients at the same time (as opposed to one company)
  4. You get the credit for your work and not some senior!
