The Shiba Revolution is Here and Knocking! Today's News in the World of Tech
Crypto Social Platforms Thrive Amidst VC Chill
Despite a drop in crypto venture capital investment, two Web3 social media platforms, RepubliK and Phaver, raised $6 million and $7 million respectively this week. RepubliK rewards users with XP for content creation, redistributing 100% of revenue, while Phaver offers a similar experience with a different monetization approach, allowing users to earn and stake points. Meanwhile, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) acquired its first NFT, and Stars Arena faced a $3 million exploitation, claiming a 90% recovery.
Web3 LinkedIn Goes Full 'Shiba'
LaborX, a Web3 LinkedIn alternative, has fully integrated Shiba Inu (SHIB). The platform will have a dedicated section for SHIB-related gigs, with payments made exclusively in SHIB. Additionally, LaborX will burn received SHIB and Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) tokens as fees. This marks Shiba Inu's growing acceptance, including enabling the purchase of tickets for Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour' movie.
Formula E Roars onto Web3 Stage
Animoca Brands is set to launch Formula E: High Voltage, a Web3 electric car racing management game using the Flow blockchain. Players will receive NFTs (cars and drivers) and race electric cars on city tracks from the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The game emphasizes collecting, training, and managing NFT drivers and cars to build a racing empire. It's part of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem and operates on Flow's eco-friendly Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism.
