About twelve months ago, a life-time friend of mine and I were talking about our fabric print capabilities, he's not a in our industry but he asked if we had any ideas on how to deaden sound thinking the fabric could help. The reason, he is a pilot owning a vintage Cessna 140, and is associated with the Kelch Air Museum in Broadhead WI. A cool grass strip airport that hosts a local EAA chapter as well as the museum that recently build a corrugated metal hanger to hold events. Problem, it echoes like the Grand Canyon.
Our solution was to print a total of (6) 74 X 54 tension graphics on fabric, back them with acoustic tiles and mount these on the walls. End result, it has cut down the ambient noise and help make the event space more sound proofed. Plus the images are from old vintage aircraft, some of which can be viewed in the museum.
So the next time you need an event space consider the Broadhead WI area, south eastern part of the state and a short drive from Madison, Milwaukee and even Chicago. Also the Kelch Museum is worth the visit.
