Shepperton Studios fund two local play areas

Shepperton Studios have funded two new playgrounds?in the borough of Spelthorne.

The play areas, based at Hetherington Road in Charlton Village and Shepperton Recreation Ground on Glebeland Gardens were developed by Spelthorne Borough Council in partnership with the local community and Residents' Associations.

Spelthorne Borough Council will now maintain the play areas, ensuring they are a safe and fun environment for local children to enjoy.

The play areas are more accessible for wheelchair-users, featuring fully accessible entrances, new wheelchair-friendly equipment and provides more play opportunities for young people in the Borough. ?These include separate areas for toddlers, swings and a wider range of play options for children up to the age of 14.

Tristam Slater, General Manager at Shepperton Studios, said “We are delighted to see these newly refurbished playgrounds open and ready for use, especially equipped with additional accessibility provision. It is a key priority for Shepperton Studios to support and provide resources and opportunities for our local communities in and around Spelthorne.”
Chair of the Environment and Sustainability Committee, Cllr Malcolm Beecher, said “We know these playgrounds will be well-used and much appreciated and I’m delighted that these new play areas have been installed for our community. Parks and open spaces provide a safe and inclusive environment for children – to grow and develop through play. I would like to thank Shepperton Studios and Esso for the funding and working in collaboration with the Council for delivering these much-needed facilities.

A nice idea. Albeit, a missed opportunity to make a play area in the shape of a camera and its accessories ??
