Showcasing Paymob's female talent
Meet Nada Naffaa, Head of Global Technology Support
Q: What inspired your career path?
A: My career path as Tech leader was inspired by my passion for technology and problem-solving. I've always been fascinated by how technology shapes our world and the potential it holds to improve lives. Technical support allows me to combine my love for technology with my desire to support merchants and help my team succeed.?
I find fulfillment in troubleshooting complex issues and finding solutions that not only resolve immediate problems but also prevent them from occurring in the future. Being able to assist customers in overcoming challenges and empowering them to make the most of the technology they use is incredibly rewarding.?
Q: What has been the most impactful project you worked on at Paymob and what did you learn from it?
A: I think the word ‘impactful’ should combine our merchant's needs and internal team recognition as it’s an equation of providing merchants with a successful outcome by having an expert team. Therefore, my favorite project since I joined Paymob was accelerating team skills and improving our customer experience by improving the team SLA, sharing knowledge between teams globally, providing an opportunity to share their feedback for enhancement through the CSAT tool, creating a fulfillment bug project to solve merchant issues and provide the best customer experience and technology.?
?I like to say, one team - one dream.
Q: What challenges have you faced as a female in fintech and how have you overcome it?
A: Being a minority as a female leader in fintech means there are fewer role models or mentors with similar experiences to look up to. To address this, I've sought out mentorship from both male and female leaders in the industry, learning from their experiences and insights to navigate challenges and advance in my career.
Fintech, like many tech-related fields, is often male-dominated. Navigating and asserting leadership in such environments can be challenging. I've overcome this by being assertive, establishing my expertise, and earning respect through my actions and decisions.
Promoting gender diversity and inclusion within my organization has been a priority. I've advocated for policies and initiatives that support diversity, such as inclusive hiring practices, leadership development programs for women, and opportunities for mentorship and career advancement.?
Q: What excites you the most about the fintech industry today?
A: One aspect that particularly excites me is the potential for fintech to address gender disparities in finance. Fintech solutions can provide women with greater access to banking, lending, investing, and other financial services, helping to bridge the gender gap in financial inclusion. For example, digital payment platforms and microfinance apps can empower women entrepreneurs and enable them to participate more fully in the economy.?
Additionally, the fintech industry is increasingly recognizing the importance of diversity and inclusion. The rapid pace of technological advancement in fintech means that there is always something new to learn and explore, as there are endless opportunities for women to make their mark and drive innovation in the industry.?
Q: What career advice do you have for women considering a career in fintech?
A: My usual advice -
