Sheeva.AI and Hagiwara Electronics Co. Ltd. team up to bring in-vehicle payments to Japan

Sheeva.AI has entered into an agreement with Hagiwara Electric Co Ltd to bring in-car payments to Japan.

“Together, we are excited to work on bringing in-car payments to Japan,” says Takeshi Soejima, President of Hagiwara Electronics Co., Ltd. “The Sheeva.AI team is one of the few in the world that is capable of executing transactions in the car via the infotainment screen.”?

“This is a big step for us,” said Evgeny Klochikhin, founder and CEO of Sheeva.AI . “We’re building on pilots we have with global automakers in other regions to bring the same improved customer experience to the Japanese market.”

S&P Mobility study shows driver desire for subscription services once value is explained and understood

?They may have suffered from fumbled rollouts (heated seat subscriptions, anyone?) but research firm S&P completed a 4,500+ respondent consumer survey this year that shows, once exposed, that consumers are pretty happy with their connected car services subscriptions. The vast majority of previous-subscriber respondents said they were likely to renew. Satisfaction is high as well, as 85% of respondents would recommend their service to a friend.



Seven automakers to open their own EV charging network together in 2024

BMW, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, and Stellantis announced this summer that they have teamed up to open 30,000 new fast-charging stations across North America starting in 2024. The critical need to build new charging infrastructure may be forcing their hand, but all of them see the opportunities around new services as part of an improved charging experience.?

EV drivers want more services around charging, plus snacks and a bathroom

?According to research firm JD Power , drivers are consistently unhappy with the availability of things to do while charging their cars. JD Power's Brent Gruber, managing director of their Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) team, said owners complain about charging stalls being too far from places to grab food or shop, adding they'd also love a place to change a diaper...and a trash can.
