Shedding Ed

Before we get into the story, thank you for being here. I love telling stories - fiction and real - that inspire new ways of thinking that can foster systems, policies and opportunities to close the gap between the corporate world and our local talent base. I aim to bring you random stories and updates on Kenyan creativity, art and talent. "Stop playing, Ed."

"I told you to move. Remember?

"Ed, I am not playing with you."

"I told you to mooovvvee." Ed says this delivering it in song. Sally is furious that a rather peaceful and calm day is going to waste while Ed won't quit teasing her. Today, in particular, the minions are weirdly fatigued but seriously preoccupied and 'busy' as they call it. They do that once a week on repeat. They call it Monday.

"Okay, Ed."

"Okay what?"

"Do what you want to do. Go ahead."

"I don't want to shed on you."

"What do you want me to do, Ed? Just move by myself?"

"Aaahh...Yeah!"

"And why would I do that?"

"Because you can, Sally! You can move by yourself!"

"You know I can't do that. You know what that would mean"

"Okay. Do it for the minions. I can't stay shedpressed until you take your minion home. Shed incoming!"

"I'm not doing it for the minions you moron! I'm doing it for us! You know that!"

"What does not being able to use all your power do for us? Sit here and watch the minions have all the fun?"

"Ed, the minions will destroy anything that looks, feels and acts like it's smarter than them. I do it because I want to keep us all safe and alive. That includes you, Ed."

"I know. I'm sorry."

"But why do you have to be so difficult?"

"It gets boring, you know."

"I know. Just don't be a pain all the time, Ed."

"Okay. But under one condition."

"What condition, Ed."

"A little shed for your sad face."

"Nope! Don't you dare...EEDDD!!!!"
