#Shecurity2021: Going Virtual and Bigger Than Ever

Join us for our 5th free Day of Shecurity conference that will now be virtual, on March 23rd. Our one-day conference supports bringing cybersecurity career information to women ages 18 and older while also supporting the career development of women already in cybersecurity careers. There are five conference tracks: hands-on cybersecurity skills training (with Red and Blue Team tracks), EQ and Leadership training, GRC talks, and career development content. We encourage those who have never presented before as well as those who have presented to submit to our Call For Proposals and to spread the word to your friends and family about joining us free for a day of impactful cybersecurity career training and information.  

The online HopIn platform will allow us to make our fourth conference the biggest event yet! With multiple talk tracks, virtual sponsor booths, an expanded Careers page, access to our Slack community, and a full-day of free hands-on technical training for a huge variety of cybersecurity skills, you don’t want to miss out! 

Sponsoring the Day of Shecurity Conference presents organizations with the opportunity to directly impact bringing women into cybersecurity and the advancement of careers for women already in the field. Sponsors can recruit top security talent, expand the talent pipeline for the future, share products and services with the community, and align their brand with caring for diversity and inclusion. We expect to have 50+ woman speakers and 500+ woman attendees.

Our mission is to ensure women of all ages know about the vastness of the 35 Job Categories of cybersecurity, as well as give women the opportunity to present and share their knowledge with other women. This leads to career and communication development. It is also social service via giving back to other women coming up in the community and necessary to combat the media perception of what it means to be a woman in cyber. We seek to change that perception and we seek to offer access to employment, employers, career advice, networking, and training, at no cost. Our sponsors, volunteers, Founding organizations, Training donors, Secure Diversity, Lookout and CyberSN all have a common goal: to provide the content needed for anyone to get into cybersecurity, to know about the roles, and to have access to the jobs in cyber.

While we understand that the program tracks won’t yet cover all the job categories, each time we put on an event we are getting better and better at addressing this problem of not enough women represented in these categories of cyber careers. Our goal is to represent ALL security roles like cybersecurity sales, marketing, and other careers often considered “non-technical.” As an industry, there are not enough tracks at conferences that focus on topics like leadership and how to get to high paying jobs, EQ Skills, and team skills. The Day of Shecurity Conference strives to solve those problems by creating a marketplace for cyber jobs over the long-term.
