Describe what you are passionate about  

I’m very passionate about missions and people, I get very fascinated with all the different people God created in this world. Also to get the chance to tell someone that God has a plan and purpose for their life! I think many of us just get caught up in the everyday life and it becomes a routine. I’ve been there before, until one day my dad actually would ask people, “are you living or are you just existing?” I started to ask myself that question. I was tired of just existing I wanted to live. I started to seek God for myself and I found a true relationship with Him, I found out what I was living for and the true meaning of life! For me to share that with people, and to give the lost and hurting hope, that’s everything. I’m passionate about offering people Jesus, salvation, and spreading the gospel. Offering them new hope and a reason to live!

Why do you love working for Vern Eide Acura? 

One main reason I love working not only for Acura, but the entire company is because of the atmosphere. The employees are all very blessed, and that’s the first thing I noticed right away within the first week when I started. I have a lot of people who tell me that there is just something that is different about this company. I truly believe with all my heart, that it’s because Jesus is represented all through out Vern Eide, and it’s a Christian based company. That’s what makes the atmosphere so welcoming and different. It really is a blessing to work at Vern Eide Acura, its like everyone is a family there, and the people are great! 

Tell me about your family.          

My family is very relaxed and they love to joke around! They are very welcoming and everyone is invited to my house to eat some good food! We might not have much, but we will give you all we have. For the most part my family is very musical, and they all have the same heart for people like I do! I promise you, they will never fail to make you smile and laugh! My family is very close and nothing will ever break us, we all are strong in our own way and we stick with each other, no matter what. God has blessed me with a wonderful family, and I wouldn’t change anything about them. A family that prays together stays together. That is so true, praying as a family, and keeping God center is what has kept us all together. My mother once said, “through failures and triumphs…as for me and my house we will serve the Lord!” read Joshua 24:15, and read the whole scripture! Its great, I promise. 

What do you like to do for fun? 

What I love to do for fun is anything adventurous, but the main thing is training in Muay Thai or you can call it Thai Boxing. I had been training in it since I was 14, and ever since then I just loved it. It was the one thing that just came to me naturally. Sometimes I wonder why, out of all the things, its Thai Boxing! Haha! I haven’t been able to train like I used to, because I’m getting busy with life, but it will always be there and be apart of my life! Someday when I have kids, I would love for them to experience the beauty of Muay Thai! There is so much more to this sport than what people think, I’ve learned so much from it. I have a lot of respect for all the amazing fighters out there, because it takes a lot to train in this sport. You must be born a fighter to stick with it. Its not easy, but the reward makes it worth it when you finish whatever it is that you want to accomplish. Whether it’s, moving up in a rank or even stepping in the ring and fighting for the first time. Not everyone can do that, and I think that’s one reason why I fell in love with it. I always wanted to do something that not many people can do. 

Tell us about some of your past missions and how you changed lives with the of a positive, uplifting message of God's unconditional love.                

Before I answer this question, I just want to say all glory to God. It is not me who changes lives or people when I do missions. Every time I speak or have that opportunity to say something, I always pray and say, “God use me and give me the words to speak into this persons life. I pray that they see You and not me,’’ I’m not much of a speaker, trust me, but lately I’ve had doors open to speak. A scripture I love that my mom gave me was Matthew 10:19. It says, “But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak.” It never fails when I lean on Him, He gives me the words to say right in that moment. The day I laid my life down and completely dedicated it to Him, is when He started to use me for His glory. I desire His will above mine, always. To be honest, I just share my heart I’m real when I talk about God. My relationship with Him is genuine, its no joke, I take it very serious. When people see that and see what He has done in my life, they want that too. They see God’s unconditional love through me, and they start to feel that when they allow God to work into their own lives. All of my past missions have been life changing. I always leave changed, and it’s made me into who I am today. To see God use you in many ways all over the world and to make an impact somewhere is a big blessing. I live for that, to see people come to God and have their life complete with Him. Missions can be fun, but it can also be hard, because you have to work. You have to have a willing heart and a heart for people. Having compassion for people is not something that you can teach. When you start to spend time with Jesus, you start to become Christ like, and begin to have a heart like Him. The journey is not easy, but it’s always worth it. 

How long have you been working at Vern Eide for? 

Well I know sometime around fall I started working for the company. I’d really have to sit down and think, maybe around September or October? So far it’s been so wonderful and I plan to keep working for this company! 

What is your official job here at Vern Eide Acura? What do you like most about your job?  

I’m the runner for Acura, so I will do just about anything that they need help with! I will run parts from store to store, pick up the things that need to be picked up at other places around town and give people rides to where they need to go! I really love to pick up tires and unload them! Haha! I’m not sure why, I just do! What I love about my job the most is getting to chat with people! I love getting to know anyone that comes through the store, because every person has a story. Also just taking time for people, just being kind to someone can bring so much joy not only into your life, but theirs too! You never know what kind of day someone is having or life that someone is living, and you always have that opportunity to speak into someone’s life everywhere you go. Why not take that opportunity when it is given to you when you have a job like mine? Why pass up that moment? My grandpa always told me to make more friends than enemies. I always treat and be-friend anyone that comes my way, no matter what kind of person they are or what job ‘title’ they have.  In Mark 12:31 it says, ‘’the second is this, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.’’ I love that scripture, because it speaks a lot. To me it speaks that we must walk in love. Without love we have nothing, it’s the greatest commandment God gives us. When you’re able to love yourself and who God created you to be, you’re able to cherish others.  

How do we make customers feel special, important, and show them we care about them here at Vern Eide Acura?  

I’ve seen so many of the employees here go above and beyond so that the customers leave satisfied. They do as much as they can so that they are able to meet the needs and expectation that people want! Everyone is willing to do what they can to make each customer happy and not just certain ones. A lot of people don’t see the ‘’background’’ things that go on at work, but I do. I can honestly say that they do all they can for customers. It’s an amazing thing to see, because everyone has a kind heart. Which doesn’t come from their job, because having a kind heart isn’t on an application. Haha! But because of their own heart and willingness to want to do that for someone. We really do have a great team here who work together to make things happen for others. 

When is your next mission going to be? When do you leave?   

Well my next mission was actually in Africa! I knew that someday I was going to go, I just didn’t know when or how? I waited two years and kept praying for the opportunity to come. Whenever there is a big decision to make, I always pray and make sure that is where God wants me to go or do. When you’re in the will of God, He makes a way for it to be possible even when it seems impossible. In Matthew 19:26 it says, “But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’’ I’m willing to go where God calls and leads me. I’m not sure where my next trip will be, but I do know that my heart would love to go to El Salvador someday. When? I’m not sure, but I’ll go when the door opens and when God says it’s time to go.   

If you could go anywhere in the entire world where would you go? Why? What would you do there?    

If I could go anywhere, I would probably have to say El Salvador or Thailand! I’m leaning more on Thailand, because I’ve always had a passion for Muay Thai and that’s where it came from. Its very popular there, so I think it would be great to see that and be apart of that. Obviously I would go there to do missions and work with kids since that’s my favorite thing to do whenever I go on a missions trip! I don’t think I could ever travel and have it not be missions related! Haha! Everywhere I go or travel to I’m on a mission field. I think it would be very cool to train with them and do some pad rounds and just take time for them. I really like their culture and food, so it would be a blessing to be apart of that and see that.  

How do you feel about your co-workers here and the team at Vern Eide?       

I actually really like my co-workers a lot! I’ve been so blessed to talk to each and everyone of them and get to know them personally! They are all kind and they never go a day without saying good morning and ask you how you are doing! It’s been really fun working with them, because we will do things together so that we become a stronger team. Sometimes someone will cook some good food and everyone gets together to eat quick and just kind of bond with one another! There are a lot of great people working at Acura and through the entire company! I’m very blessed to have been brought into this company and that God lead me here. I look forward to growing with my team even more in the future.
