Meet Tyra Thomas, a leader harnessing her own experiences to push for systemic reforms

Tyra Thomas knows firsthand what she describes as “the wear and tear on the soul and spirit and the body” caused by racism and homelessness.?

Thomas is a Housing Equity Strategist at Community Solutions, where she works to address inequities in housing among racial minorities, veterans, and other marginalized groups. Born and raised in South Minneapolis, Thomas is a leader at?Street Voices of Change, a group of individuals with current or past experiences with homelessness who advocate for systems change.

We’re sharing this conversation with Thomas now, in the wake of the Johnson v. Grants Pass decision, because it’s more important than ever to learn from people who have experienced homelessness.?
