She Never Knew a Stranger....

Momma after heart attack....

Momma was something else. They truly broke the mold after she was born. Momma loved and had passion for everything and everyone in life. I don't believe she ever knew a stranger. And one of the few ways to make her mad was to say anything bad to her about her children, or beat her at playing “Rummy”. I remember the year she had a heart attack and had a stent put in her heart. I decided to take her away on a trip; just her and I. She was so excited to go horseback riding with me. My friend said that only momma and I would go horseback riding after she had had a heart attack. She was my friend and confident. Momma believed in me. She instilled in me that I could conquer the world, and was a steady force in helping me to do it. Love is a strange and wonderful thing. It remains forever in your heart, even when they have passed on. It doesn't diminish ever. Actually, the love seems to continue to grow, healing our broken hearts as we press forward. I remember we used to talk about the day she would go home to be with Jesus. I'd tell her that I wasn't ready for that day yet. And she'd tell me with that twinkle in her eye, and her lips quivering with her love for me, “I'll never leave you 'baby'. I'll always be with you.” I think of all these things, and ponder them in my heart, as I remember my mom and all she was to me. Happy 90th Birthday in heaven, momma. We love and miss you.......
