SHE HAS RISEN

Her arrival was as sudden as her departure

And the time that had past had made its mark

On her

On me

And found us both so very changed.

She had grown stronger, wiser, bright and shining.

I had become weaker, faded and broken in spirit.

Once I had saved her life in her faltering soul of pain

Now she was here to save mine,

When all past horrors had once more reared their heads.

She was more beautiful than before

Reunited with the souls she had birthed

(Always her dream and hope)

Giving her strength and purpose that dazzled me

Amazed me

Healed me

So that she was truly the phoenix

Risen from the ashes of her despair.

I remember her saying once she felt unworthy

Of my love and tenderness.

How wrong she was if she had known

Or could have seen

The power she now possessed

From finally having her heart’s true love

Reunited to her existence.

She thanks me more than she should

While I can’t thank her

Enough.
