She Codes - Inspiring Women In Tech

I recently caught up with Jambay Wangmo to hear about her journey from She Codes to her current position at Iluka Resources.

1. Tell us about your experience at She Codes?

She Codes was the first IT workshop I attended in Australia. I am thankful to She Codes as my leap into the IT industry started here. I met Jodie from Robert Walters and then had a few interviews and got my current IT job. Even though it was a one-day workshop at the end it makes you feel so satisfied in my case my running turtle game development ??. I am looking forward to more of She Codes workshops.

2.??????Tell us about your position and career goals?

I am currently working as Service Desk Analyst providing Level 1 IT Support and I am thoroughly enjoying my job. I have finally gained permanent employment in my company after working as temporary Contractor for 8 months. I want to slowly move into Application Support.?

3.??????What has been the most enjoyable part of your work experience over the last 2 years?

I was out of touch with IT for almost 4 years and after getting back into the field in Perth I have learnt a lot. It has been an amazing journey meeting a lot of people from diverse backgrounds in WA and learning many IT applications to enhance my skills.?

4.??????What advice would you give emerging female talent into the Tech industry?

I would say, for anybody IT is not as complex as people sometimes make it feel. You know this once you start venturing into Tech yourself. If you have the interest and time to invest, IT can offer so much. The IT industry is so broad and you can explore you are in an area that suits you.?
