If she can sell this to the wealthy...you can too!

If she can sell this to the wealthy...you can too!

have this client Brenda who is a real estate agent in California. She’s relatively new, and truth be told she got into real estate because of those reality shows on Bravo.

“Which wasn’t the best reason” she readily admits. ??

While the idea of selling multimillion dollar homes was very appealing, Brenda quickly ran into a very common challenge.

????“I didn’t know a lot…in fact, any…affluent people.”

Brenda got my book (told you this was going to be self-aggrandizing) and decided to focus on attending some events to see if she could expand her network. ??

?? “I followed one of your suggestions and brought a friend with me, which made the process a bit less intimidating. She’s an interior designer so we were in synergistic rather than directly competitive fields.”?

“We made a commitment to go for 4 months, and the first time, quite candidly we didn’t get anything out of it. That was mostly due to the fact that we spent way too much time talking to each other and not enough time mingling.”

“The second time, we did better, but still felt like outsiders.”

“Something shifted the third time. There were 3 people that we recognize from our earlier meetings and there was a level of comfort and familiarity that we hadn’t experienced before.”

“Maybe it was that comfort that motivated us to more aggressively make some brand new connections. I think because we had been ‘seen’ at prior events, people were a bit more willing to engage in a conversation with us.”

“Long story short, a connection we made at that meeting lead to a job for my friend the interior designer. But what was totally cool was the reason this person wanted an interior designer was because she was getting ready to list her house and wanted it to look ’fresh & contemporary”.

“And yes, I did get the listing, and it was my first sale over $2 million. It really is true that once you’ve had some success with a ‘club member’, you’re now accepted by a lot more of them.” ??

One last self-aggrandizing plug…Brenda used just one of the strategies I discuss in my book The Affluent Marketing Blueprint. If you haven’t already, you really should get a copy, which you can do HERE
