With the population, polluting and heat raising without limits, humans, animals and birds are suffering alike. While the scorching sun is draining the life out of street animals, the status of existence of birds has degraded from being bad to extinction. While we were all busy in winning the rat race, one girl among us was thinking about more than just herself. Ms Aarundhati Mhatre, an IT professional from Mumbai couldn’t stop the most humanitarian feeling of ‘taking care’.
Mhatre is the perfect example of ‘charity begins at home’ as she rears 350 butterflies in the balcony of her apartment. Various beautiful birds which are in the girth of extension have found a new and safe home because of her. Mhatre has named her initiative ‘Arenya’ which is functional since 2013 and in its four years of existence, it has sheltered hundreds of birds like sparrows, robins, sunbirds, parakeets and others in 100 bird shelters.
This passion of this young girl reflects the true spirit of humanity and teaches us all that all living beings need to take care of each other.
Nature sustains us, and we help sustain nature!
