Shaun
Shaun only meets two kinds of people.?
That’s because - and that’s probably the first thing you need to know about Shaun - he is autistic.
Because of his condition Shaun behaves and speaks in a way… let’s say different than most. Sometimes, for example, he gesticulates that may seem as if he had no control over his hands. He will never look you in the eyes. His walk is occasionally erratic. Shaun is known for stopping mid sentence and abandoning the company or conversation.
But that’s normal for him and people who know him for a long time. It comes with a territory of being on the spectrum.
However, for new acquaintances - and there are only two kinds of them - Shaun’s behaviour and how his autism presents itself is either fascinating or - scary.?
When coming in contact with Shaun some people are instantly mesmerised, intrigued by him and the way he is. They instantly want to know more about him, try to understand him, talk to him, learn more. They already know a bit about autism but in personal contact they have million questions and are eager to ask them.
Second kind of person when encountering Shaun gets paralysed. For them those erratic movements, the inability to look in the eye, the way Shaun speaks - all of it freaks them out. Hence they call Shaun freak but that’s another story.
Well, believe me or not, but when you’re in marketing and sales - you are Shaun.?
And you will encounter two kinds of people. One who will dig you and want to know more and other that no matter what you say or do - they will be scared and they will avoid you, if not attack you straight up.
[Shaun is autistic but also a genius! And that’s 300 words today… Yay!]
