Sharpening the Saw

6 years ago, we had a swimmer that was a Junior on the boy's team. We were in the beginning part of taper for him.
He was looking for a way to create more drag at practice, so he took a belt from a Stretch Cordz set, ran it through his mesh bag, and filled it with equipment until he had the desired weight. There are no pictures of this, but you can imagine.
We told him we would figure out something for his senior year.
My assistant coach asked her Dad if he could build something. We had seen power racks and other one-offs at other pools. We finally found some plans and created our bucket system.
The coaches learned how to use them and we talked to other coaches for workouts. A little learning curve on how to make them work for us. And now it is part of our standard training
Now that junior is a senior in college at a D1 program, the 50 Free is one of his events. And his sister is a freshman in our program. Today was her first day on the buckets.
Completely changed and made our program better because of this.? Keep sharpening the saw.
