Gina, how nice of you to comment in the midst of our frenzy. We often forget where this game originated and need a refresher. You present a very sensible solution to what should be common sense and I am pleased that so many will read it and try to overcome the misconceptions of the sport. I think that you were tied into a response to Mr. Gorajec's request for information in another text. As an ex-rider and horseman I can assure you that our jockeys for the most part make a wonderful contribution to the amount of racing that we extract from both horse and rider in a year. Even with all of the fiddling of jurisdictions our rule books for the most part have carried a whip abuse rule that has suffered from neglect and poor officiating in some jurisdictions. I do like the idea and reasoning of separating the age groups for whip application and tasking the jockeys with a math question. Let's hope that we can gain some traction with all this.
Have a wonderful Christmas and thanx again for your contribution!
