Sharing perspectives on emerging trends in global agriculture

A few days ago, I was able to spend time with several Iowa State University faculty and students as part of my opportunity to speak at this year’s Hertz Lecture on Emerging Issues in Agriculture. As an ISU graduate and part of one of the leading companies in our industry, this was a huge honor for me – and it is always inspiring to learn the perspectives of the next generation of agriculture leaders.

The Hertz Lecture was created in recognition of the founders of Hertz Farm Management, Carl and Marjory Hertz, to inspire those in our industry, as well as scientists and young professionals, to reach their potential. In 1946, they started a family farm in Iowa which led to the founding of Hertz Farm Management – with a goal of providing the highest levels of service and commitment, with integrity and care – values that are in line with our own at Corteva.?

I appreciate the Hertz family’s decision to sponsor this lecture series to inspire future generations and to share ideas and experiences. On a professional level, today Corteva enjoys an excellent business relationship with the Hertz organization and the many Hertz professional farm managers.

Some of what stood out to me during my day at Iowa State was the strong focus and interest on continuing to strengthen the future of agriculture through a commitment to sustainability, innovation and inspiring the next generation.??I was especially inspired by the engaging questions so many students brought forward.?
