The most amazing thing about finding out what you have become truly passionate about is sharing it with others. If you’re one of my many connections/followers you know that I have been very active on LinkedIn over the past 8+ months. I’ve had so much fun learning and then sharing, and then learning more and then sharing even more.
I started off searching for a new career and of course learning all of the wrong things to do along the way. By trial & error and from many amazingly giving LinkedIn members, I finally found the correct way to use LinkedIn.
I was surprised that during this time of being active I grew my following and connections very quickly. I stayed up late at night after a hard day’s work to share and learn. I also got up early every morning to comment/post and ask a lot of questions of people I once called "Influencers".
As I was learning, I was posting content and commenting on relevant and interesting content. By doing this I continued to learn and meet so many amazing people along the way. As my knowledge of how to navigate LinkedIn grew, I made sure to share this knowledge with others.
What I didn't realize early in my LinkedIn development was I was in the beginning stages of finding my true passion. This new interesting platform became a way for me to continue what I have always tried to be, which is a Servant Leader.
With my 9 to 5 career I have always been considered a good leader and developer of others. I always took pride in putting others first to get the results we need and want to succeed in the business word.
My new interaction with LinkedIn allowed me to potentially influence even more people then what I was use to with my current career. LinkedIn provided me a platform of helping endless amounts of people. How did I know this? I was seeing it happen daily.
I saw the amazing Oleg Vishnepolsky giving advice and commenting and connecting with others. Putting others first. This was jaw dropping for me. I could not believe the selfless acts I was witnessing.
Then an amazing person by the name of Cory Warfield connected with me on LinkedIn. I was thinking, how is this "Influencer" finding the time to connect with me...or why would someone as busy as Cory want to connect with me?
I commented on a few of his posts and then one day Cory said let’s connect. Well, we had already connected on LinkedIn so I had no idea what Cory meant....until Cory said no let’s get on a call together.......WOW!!!!
Still trying to understand why I took the call. I won’t bore you with the details of the call but I will tell you one little blurb from our conversation. I had just told Cory that I believe I was about to truly find out what I was passionate about....giving back to others. Wasn't sure at this time what it would eventually look like but I knew I was close to finding it. Then we discussed a job interview I had that turned into me not getting the job and Cory said..........I'm happy you didn't get that job because from what you have told me you’re going to do BIG things here soon enough.
I have met so many amazing people on this platform that have allowed me to learn, share and laugh along the way. It’s because of these relationships I have created that I'm able to now do what I truly want to do.
I have been providing free advice for some time now and it has been so fun to give back. I have been encouraged for some time now to start my own business. Providing the advice, I had been so willing to share for free and now turning it into a career.
Well that day is today.
So Shmuly Rothman & Forrest Bivens, I found my humility without bragging and have allowed myself to say darn it....."I'm good at what I do."
And just like my daily video shares and my posts I'm sure this article is full of grammatical errors and faux pa's.........but with LinkedIn it’s all about the content.
I enjoy helping others learn how to use the LinkedIn platform by first creating a ROCK STAR LinkedIn profile. Once you have your profile, I’ll teach you how to make meaningful connections using your new LinkedIn profile.
If you allow me to help you, I’ll provide you the same heartfelt service I have received from the LinkedIn community.
Thank you
